Meet Gretchen

Visionary, Founder, CPT & RYT-200

Beautiful blessings everyone! I am founder, creator and visionary of Vibrant Awakenings Yoga, Dance and Fitness.

My wellness journey began over 12 years ago. I had a totally different lifestyle and mindset. Working a dead-end job in the private sector, I was stuck behind a desk staring at a computer screen for hours on end - eating boxes of cookies and bonbons. I was miserable. Although it was a well paying gig, I was unhappy in my life and putting on weight. Deep down, I knew I needed to make a change. Not just physically but mentally too. 
 

At that time, yoga found me and it changed my life. The healing aspects of the practice helped to reduce my stress levels and anxiety. With continued practice, I acquired a well-balanced understanding of the connection between the mind, body and breath. Unlocking the potential, I deepened the connection with my inner self and developed a beautiful relationship built on acceptance, gratitude and love.

This inspired me to help others and offer guidance to those in my community who were looking for support finding their own fitness path. 


On this journey of mine, I've lost over a 100 pounds and quit corporate life in 2018 after receiving my 200-hour yoga certification with Three Sisters Yoga ("TSY") a year earlier. I went on to attend workshops and seminars, in areas of meditation and trauma to further my continued healing. Later in 2018, I realized I wanted do something more meaningful that could help others benefit from my discoveries. At which point, I obtained my Personal Training certification with the National Academy of Sports Medicine (“NASM”) and started teaching Group Fitness classes. Most recently, I also received my PN1 Nutritional Certification with Precision Nutrition and currently continuing my education credits with NASM as well as other accredited institutions and programs.

I am deeply grateful for the wisdom my instructors and teachers have shared with me over the years. Offering all that I have learned, I now strive to educate, motivate and inspire others to achieve their fitness and spiritual goals through the art of movement. With a kind, light-hearted approach, I can guide you with compassion and a concentrated focus on your goals and needs while offering a roadmap with proven techniques that will enhance you and/or your organization's personal development and growth on the mat and beyond!
